30 student athletes competed for the SUNY Oneonta wrestling team during the recently completed winter season.
A total of 182 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2017-2018 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher.
Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.
Numerous Coastal Carolina University student-athletes participated in "Night to Shine," a red-carpet event held at The Rock Church in Conway in conjunction with the Tim Tebow Foundation. "Night to Shine" is a unique prom night experience for people with special needs. More than 200 "Kings and Queens" from ages 14 to 83 participated the event Feb. 9. CCU players from the volleyball team, lacrosse team and football team participated in the event.
Twelve SUNY Geneseo students presented their research projects recently at the Council of Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) Northeast Undergraduate Research Conference in Pennsylvania. Mansfield University hosted the conference, where more than 100 students from COPLAC schools featured their research in the humanities, arts, social sciences and natural sciences. The students discussed their work with other presenters and faculty in their discipline from other COPLAC colleges.

Several students are working as tour guides this year at Susquehanna University. To become a tour guide, students must complete a written application and personal interview with the admissions staff. Once selected, students complete an intensive training program, followed by additional training sessions throughout their time on the job.
Several students took part in the annual Mid-Atlantic European Union Simulation held in Washington, D.C., late last fall. The simulation involves meetings of the European Union (EU) Council, two parliamentary committees and two Councils of Ministers. During the three days students have the opportunity to visit the embassy of the country that they represented in the simulation.
